Our Fitness Classes
Fitness Traning

We offer fitness training in small group, or one on one formats. Fitness classes are led by certified fitness trainers and are available to all City Barbell members. All trainers must be employed by the club. Outside trainers are not allowed.

Meet Our Trainers

Curtis Johnson

Founder

Chaplain Curtis Johnson is a lifetime sports enthusiast and has participated in sports in various stages of his life. Starting in little league, Chaplain Curt has performed in high school, college, coed adult, and men's competitive and fun leagues. As an accomplished powerlifter on the Senior level, Chaplain Johnson has placed an emphasis on functional strength for longevity while maintaining a sober lifestyle. Chaplain is a lifetime learner who continues to seek formal education and accreditation in personal training and healthy living.

Shauna Baldwin knows what it means to see fitness from a whole perspective, maintaining the key aspects of mental and spiritual wellness in addition to the physical. After giving birth to her two children she saw the benefit of having a structured fitness program; and became committed to utilizing her skill set to help other individuals rebuild their confidence physically, mentally, and spiritually. Through fitness she creates a safe space for individuals to reclaim their God given identity and achieve total wellness.

Sandra Blackburn

Bio: Sandra is not only into gym fitness but physical wellness as a whole. As a Registered Nurse graduating from the University of Detroit Mercy, she also holds a Bachelor’s degree of Applied Health Science with a specialization in Public Health. Sandra has spent many years in the fitness world as a former competitive swimmer; after retiring from the swim scene she chose to continue her journey through personal training. As a certified trainer she takes not only her fitness seriously, but yours as well.

Jeff Perry is a former trainer of Ballys Fitness and has been a serious lifter for 15 years. With a deep passion for fitness Jeff has taken a special interest in powerlifting. Competing for over 5 years in this specialty , he holds 3 state records in benching, squating, and deadlifting for his age and weight class.
